Bedroom types for our Retreat in France
The Signature suites are the largest of the guest rooms. They are called Sage and Briar. They are located in the main house as well as in the annexes on the first floor, at the top of the carved wooden staircase and have their own private en suite bathrooms.Â
The sage room is set in what was once the sumptuous dining room, with generous proportions, a high beamed ceiling, ornate stone fireplace and detailed wood panelling.
Named for its soothing colour palette, and the ancient herb bush growing in the vegetable garden outside, the Sage room offers a soothing mix of grandeur and serenity. With a king size four poster bed and generous ensuite complete with walk-in shower, the room is the epitome of spaciousness, peace and luxury.Â
The morning sun filtering through the leaves outside and the gentle birdsong will ensure a delightful start to the day.
The Sage and Briar room have tea/coffee making facilities included.

The Heritage En Suite Rooms are beautiful rooms with private bathrooms. They are called Thyme and Lavendar.Â
Located on the second floor, Thyme is a vibrant room with dramatic patterns and bespoke design features. With a glamorous ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, and sweeping views over the garden, you’ll find charisma combined with a sense of lightness and luxury.Â
The Thyme room has a king size bed, which can be divided into twin beds if required.Â
All bedrooms come with wifi, complimentary welcome pack/amenities pack, electric blankets, fan, hairdryer, luxury linen and towels, extra pillows and blankets are available on request.
The Thyme and Lavender rooms share a communal area with seating, a book and games library and tea/coffee making facilities.

The Garden Rooms sit close to the main house in their own cottage. Originally the groundskeeper’s abode, this charming stone building has been carefully redesigned and renovated to become a fabulous family holiday retreat. The cottage retains a wealth of original features, while allowing for some new embellishments and artistic touches. We invite you to enjoy the romantic magical atmosphere of a forgotten fairytale cottage, combining traditional charm with modern fixtures.Â
Briar is the master bedroom upstairs (signature suite), where high ceilings create a light and airy atmosphere, and the luxurious ensuite comes with a double sink and freestanding bath. Â
Bramble and Berry are neighbouring bedrooms on the ground floor, sharing a shower room between them. Berry is a deliciously cosy double bedroom, while Bramble offers a twin bed set up, ideal for children.
A fully fitted kitchen, sweet little snug and a reading nook complete the rooms in the house, and the secluded private garden patio for al fresco dining is perfectly situated to catch the evening sunshine.
