- 1.5 l/50 oz grape juice
- 2 oranges and a bit of the peel
- 2 apples
- 1 handful of dried pears and apples
- 2 cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 piece star anis
- 6 black pepper corns
- lemon juice
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Tools
- pot
- cutting board
- knife
- peeler
- 2 deep plates
Useful guidelines
For this recipe we used fresh homemade grape juice but the one from the store works fine as well.Â
The fruit you add can be varied according to taste, substitute the apples with grapes for example.
Depending on your preference you could also  change up the spices, even making it a bit spicy if you like.
Directions
Simply follow these steps in order to make Wintery Grape Punch with orange, apple and spices:
Step 1:
Start by peeling and chopping your oranges. Use the peeler to thinly slice off three 4 cm-pieces from the orange peel. Add to your pot.
Step 2:
Peel the apples, slice into eighth and remove the pips. Add to the pot as well.
Step 3:
Next, introduce the dried fruits and spices into your pot and add in the grape juice.
Step 4:
Set on the stove, bring to a boil and then let simmer for 15 minutes on medium heat.
Step 5:
In the meantime, decorate the edges of your glass.
Fill a deep plate with the juice of half a lemon and another one with sugar and cinnamon.
Dip the glass upside down into the lemon juice. Wait until it doesn’t drip anymore and then dip into the cinnamon-sugar.
Step 6:
Serve hot with a fresh slice of orange.
Storage
It’s best consumed immediately, but when kept in the fridge  you can reheat and enjoy the punch the next day as well.
